A New Blood Test

I am very hesitant to post this because it is full of “if”, “might” and “could be”. Please read it as a possibility and a hope but NOT a prediction. There is a report from Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, that is NOT peer reviewed which indicates they have developed a blood test to detect antibodies a person has developed against the virus.

IF, IF, IF it is true this COULD BE, COULD BE, COULD BE very good. First, it’s a blood test so it is easier. But more importantly it would let us know if you EVER had the virus. To complete the picture, we would still have to determine if you have it now. But IF, IF, IF we could and IF, IF, IF having this virus once gives you immunity, we could know who is safe from getting sick. This MIGHT, MIGHT, MIGHT be useful if properly handled.

Now, I’ve not gotten into this is an ELISA test and we’d need a western blot test. So, another IF. And even if you have had it, when you get some on your hands, you can still pass it to someone else with a touch.

In case I haven’t been clear this is a hope, wrapped in an if, surrounded by a maybe, but I promised to give you the good, the bad, and the ugly. I assume you’ll be hearing about this and I wanted to give you some background.

That said, we are still in a crisis. WASH YOUR HANDS, SIX FEET APART, DON’T TOUCH YOUR FACE ……
